I’ve got a secret....
Yep, I’ve got a secret. A big ole secret. A big, nice ole
secret. A secret by which all other secrets can be measured and
evaluated by. The mother, in fact, no, the Godzilla of all
secrets...
What? Y’all want to know what my secret is? What I‘m talking
about here? GASP!!!! Y’all do? Oh my God! I can almost feel it
being drug out of me, I’m struggling so hard to fight y’all
back, but here it is....
I have two new friends, maybe two y’all might have heard of. One
happens to be Miss Grits, Deborah Ford. Y’all have heard of Miss
Grits, the lady that wrote the book, “Grits (Girls Raised In The
South) Guide To Life.” She’s also the lady that has all the neat
Grits merchandise out, and she does lots of public speaking to
boot. All in all, she’s a true Southern belle and then some, a
bright, stunningly attractive woman all rolled up into one. Miss
Grits and I have hit it off like peas and carrots, so she is one
of my two newest buddies.
My second bestest new friend is a lady by the name of Dedra
Grizzard. Dedra is charming, talented, and quite attractive as
well. More importantly, she is very smart, and guards the legacy
of Georgia’s greatest humor writer with pride, dignity, and
savvy. Dedra has a great sense of humor, is fun to be around,
and could melt the ice off a hockey rink with one smoldering
glance, she looks so good. She and I are getting along quite
well to boot, and I am proud to say that she is one of my two
newest buddies.
Now, take two savvy, beautiful ladies like Miss Grits and Dedra,
throw in the old Juliette country boy here, and what do you
have? I’ll tell y’all what you have, you have a brand new stage
show, one that the three of us have been working on and have
titled,
“GRITS, Georgia, and Grizzard”
That’s right, “GRITS, Georgia, and Grizzard.” We’re currently
doing a couple of test runs in front of audiences to be sure we
are getting it down like we want it, and so far things are
working out just great. Now, having said all that, some of y’all
may want to know just what our show is all about, what it
consists of, and I’m about to tell you. It goes something like
this - Dedra comes out and tries to let everyone know what to
expect, and then Miss Grits comes out, and she acts like Miss
Grits, and then I come out, and I act like me, and then Dedra
comes out again and tries to apologize for what everyone else
has just seen. It’s a fun show, and when you show out like we do
in front of people strong friendships begin to develop, which is
always a good thing. And so it is between the three of us, we
are fastly becoming really good friends, which personally means
some great benefits for me. Just think about it, guys, if an
issue comes up.....
I get to hash it out with Ms. Grits and Dedra, maybe over drinks
or out by a pool...
If we are offered a show over in Hawaii....
I get to discuss it with Ms. Grits and Dedra, maybe out on a
cruise ship or out on the Vegas strip somewhere.
If I catch a cold and develop a fever while out on the road...
I get sympathy and affection from Ms. Grits and Dedra....
And if either Ms. Grits or Dedra buys a stunning new dress or
swimsuit while out on the road, and happens to want an opinion
about it....
I get to stare for awhile at them and get into absolutely no
trouble for doing so...
It can’t get much better than that, now can it? So now y’all
know what my new secret is, and why I’m so excited about it. I
think our new show is going to do well, and we’ll have a lot of
fun doing it, which is the best thing of all. So folks, if any
of y’all out there think you might be interested in hearing more
about “GRITS, Georgia, and Grizzard,” just shoot me an email at
the addy listed below. I’ll be sure it gets forwarded to our
agent, and they’ll take it from there. And for now, I’ve gotta
rest up - running around all over the place with two famous,
smart, and pretty women is proving to be an awful burden, so I
need all the rest I can get...
