Lectio Divina

Lectio Divina is an ancient technique of scripture meditation. It invoves the slow, meditative reading of a selected portion of scripture, meditation upon a part of that scripture which seems to speak to you in a personal way, response to God in prayer, and silent listening for God's response to you. This form of prayer has been kept alive for almost the whole of Christian history, mostly in the monastic tradition.
