Involuntary Commitment

Involuntary commitment is a sensitive and contraversial subject in mental health. Often family members, friends, law enforcement, or mental health professionals feel that this is necessary for the safety of the individual or others. On the otherhand, for the person who may be commited, this can be an additional terrifying situation, that adds to what ever other pain and suffering they may be feeling, and it is a situation in which one loses their rights. This category is intended to present both sides of this issue so that all may be better educated on both the good and the abuse that can occur.
