Exocrine: production of enzymes neccessary for the digestion of protein.Disorders of the pancreas involve failure of these enzyme functions and include diabetes, chronic and acute pancreatis, pancreatic acinar atrophy, and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI).
