These processors are named after the firm that first made them: Advanced RISC Machines Ltd. Then ARM (Ltd.) sold a license for the ARM (architecture) to DEC (Digital Equipment Corp.), which named their variant StrongARM. Then DEC sold their division that made StrongARM to Intel, who now makes StrongARM. Now you can get ARMs from ARM and Intel, but not DEC. Simple, yes?
